About the Author:
The writer and artist Tove Jansson (1914-2001) is best known as the creator of the Moomin children's stories, which have been published in 35 languages. The Summer Book was one of ten novels she wrote for adults. It is regarded as a modern classic throughout Scandinavia.

Book Description Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. This 1975 1st American Edition/1st Printing of the Finnish novel in translation is in Fine/VeryGood condition. The hardback looks unread but for a removed first owner signature on the FFEP. The dustjacket is not price-clipped. It retains all its lettering and colors but shows foxing and sun exposure with occasional stains. There is wear with small mm losses at the top and bottom corner folds ant the spine ends. Overall a beautiful and very difficult to find 50 year old book, that has been translated into 35 languages.
