Grade 7-12-- As 1991 is the 50th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, it is fitting that a book on the subject (undoubtedly one of many) should appear. Beginning with a detailed description of the bombing, Dunnahoo then devotes the rest of the book to an in-depth analysis of the diplomatic and political maneuverings leading up to the attack. The narrative style is breezy and intriguing, holding readers through a whirlwind of activity involving government leaders, spies, and military personnel on both sides. A bibliography of adult and juvenile titles is included.
