Gr 2-5-This book explains in simple, readable language various creative methods for budding artists. The authors present a wide range of two- and three-dimensional techniques, from the traditional to the experimental. Topics such as scale, color theory, and use of light and shadow provide a good foundation for the suggested projects. Each lesson includes basic instructions, several project ideas, and special pointers set within colored borders. While some of the required supplies may be found at home, some of the brushes, paints, and papers may need to be purchased. This slim, attractive book has a casual and inviting format.
