From Library Journal:
The infamous Harvard-Yale study of 1986 claimed that an unmarried woman over 40 had a greater chance of being shot by terrorists than marrying; Patricia Craig, co-author of the study, investigated these single women and their mothers independently. Here Curtis explicates the results of both studies, which delineate changing patterns of social and economic experience between the generations. Older women were influenced by the prevalent post-War rigidity; younger women have had more choices, but some limitations their mothers never knew. Although narrower in focus, this book covers much the same ground as Cheryl Merser's Grown-Ups ( LJ 10/1/87). Susan B. Hagloch, Tuscarawas Cty. P.L., New Philadelphia, Ohio
