Using rare and unique photographs, many taken from the flight itself and giving an idea of the qualities required of the crews, Lord James Douglas-Hamilton has recreated the scene facing the pilots, one of whom was his father. About the Author:

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton read History at Balliol College, Oxford, where he gained his boxing blue and became President of the Oxford Union. He was the author of two other highly successful books, Motive for a Mission: The Story Behind Rudolf Hess's Flight to Britain and The Air Battle for Malta.
