From Library Journal:
Taking its inspiration from Charles Sheldon's 1896 classic, In His Steps , this novel explores the personal and social/economic changes that occur in a typical American community when a conventionally successful minister, shaken out of complacency by the death of a drifter who had sought his help, vows henceforth always to do whatever Jesus would do. Soon his congregation is polarized between those who respond to the call and others (including his wife) who cannot understand. If the writing is not particularly distinguished, this will still stimulate many to muse on implications of their faith they do not generally examine. EC
