About the Author:
The son of a former acting director of the FBI, John Otto is a veterinarian who lives in Norman, Oklahoma, with his son and co-author, Payton. Dr. Otto works with the Friends for Folks prison therapy-dog program in Oklahoma, and his efforts have seen the program grow to include incarcerated mothers in the Oklahoma prison system. He wrote Marvin's Shining Star to help break the cycle of illiteracy.
