hardcover. Condition: Nuovo (New). Prima edizione (First Edition). Fotografie in bianco e nero di Ed Panar . Cm 26x22. pp. 112. . Nuovo (New). . Prima edizione (First Edition). . Book.

First edition. Signed by the author to the front. Red covers, softback. Colour photography throughout. 'Nationalfeiertag', is a book about one of the biggest, and most monitored squares in the world: Tiananmen Square in Beijing. In April and May of 1989 student protests took place and there was a massacre on June 4th. Officials and police attempted to control the images taken, but Katja Stuke filmed a few hours of material at the time and on the Chinese National Holiday in October. From this footage she extracted hundreds of portraits. The book combines these portraits with newspaper clippings which are collected and spread by the June 4th Museum in Hong Kong to keep the memory of the protests of 1989 alive. Unpaginated [560 pages]. In very good condition. 235 x 165 mm (9¼ x 6½ inches).

paperback. Condition: Perfetto (Mint). Prima edizione (First Edition). Fotografie a colori e in bianco e nero di Bharat Sikka. Testo di Charlotte Cotton Design di Hans Gremmen. 8vo (20x23,5 cm). pp. 192. . Perfetto (Mint). . Prima edizione (First Edition). . Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 2nd Edition. Second edition. Stiff paper wrappers (softcover), 192 pages : illustrations, portraits, facsimiles ; 28 cm. Very good, delicate wrappers with light wear and partially sunned. American Origami is the result of six years of photographic research by Andres Gonzalez. The project closely examines the epidemic of mass shootings in American schools, interweaving first-person interviews, forensic documents, press materials, and original photographs. The book takes its reader through a visual journey of shared grief and atonement to illuminate moments of beauty and pose moral questions embedded in acts of collective healing. Bound in a unique way, the varied elements repeat and fold into each other, creating a parallel world of past and present, and showing the silenced landscape together with the personal artefacts created by those left behind.

Rilegato. Condition: quasi ottimo. prima edizione. "By using photography and historical documentation, Elian Somers investigates in Border Theories the relationship between architecture, politics and history in three Russian cities. During the 20th century, Birobidzhan, Kaliningrad and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk were designed, built and redeveloped under the Soviet regime, with the utopian vision of a socialist city as the guiding principle for each. By examining the evolution of these cities, Somers reveals how visions of urban planners, nourished by political convictions, can control but never fully overwrite a city and its history. Included are texts by Elian Somers, Hester van Gent and Kerstin Winking." Text: Winking Kerstin, van Gent Hester. cm 24x34; pp. 136; hardcover.

Oostzaan was the first real garden village in Amsterdam, intended to offer working-class families light, air and space, and a decent accommodation [.] The village grew and the world changed. The Vegabuurt was added and in the 1950s came Tutti-Fruttidorp and Tuindorp Oostzaan-West. New residents moved to Noord, where thousands of people worked in the yards. Now that heavy industry has disappeared, North is trending and the houses are popular with young city dwellers.

Adornments gives an extensive overview of the works of Carla van de Puttelaar from the past 6 years. The book explores her work by a strong an associative edit, and by using special printing techniques and experimental paper it reflects on one of the key elements of the work of Van de Puttelaar: the skin. The work allows the eye to touch the skin on many levels. It makes the viewer aware of the sensitivity and the sensuality of skin, which she examines in detail, without ever forgetting to be aware of the importance of the shapes of the structure that the skin envelopes. The female body has long been her main subject, but in recent years she has also successfully begun to examine the skin and texture of flowers, particularly those on the brink of fading. The book shows over 200 works, and also some process images, which give an insight in selection process and the making of the final works.

paperback. Condition: Perfetto (Mint). Fotografie in bianco e nero a piena pagina di Stephan Keppel, alcune stampate su fogli dorati. Volume pubblicato come risultato della residenza d'artista presso la Van Doesburghuis (Meudon Val Fleury) e l'Atelier Holsboer (Parigi) dall'aprile 2013 all'aprile 2014 Design: Hans Gremmen e Stephan Keppel. 4to (cm 29,5x21). pp. 208. Firma autografa dell'Artista, datata Paris 2014 (Inscription signed by the Artist, dated Paris 2014). Perfetto (Mint). . Prima edizione di 500 esemplari (First edition of 500 copies). . For the creation of ‘Entre Entree', Stephan Keppel spent one year in Paris and it's suburbs. By reproducing the endless variations of the city's surfaces –with his set of printers, camera's and partly found paper-stocks– Keppel creates a new urban and visual structure. This experimental approach gives a unique perspective on a city that is over the years so often visually celebrated. ‘Entre Entree' is a very dense, attractive, but at the same time uncanny publication, which is a highlight in Keppel's ongoing research on public space, urban structures and reproduction.Stephan Keppel studied autonomous art (1994–98) at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (NL) and has since worked primarily with photographic and printmaking techniques. He has had his studio in Amsterdam (NL) since 2003. The book projects Reprinting the City (Den Helder, 2012), Entre Entree (Paris, 2014), Flat Finish (New York, 2017), and Soft Copy Hard Copy (Amsterdam, 2021), all published by Fw:Books in Amsterdam, were acquired for various collections, for example the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Stadsarchief Amsterdam, Nederlands Fotomuseum Rotterdam (NL), the International Center for Architecture in New York (US), and the Canadian Centre for Architecture in Montreal (CA). Recently Keppel won the Somfy Photography Award 2020 with an installation at the Nederlands Fotomuseum Rotterdam. Entre Entree è una pubblicazione molto densa e attraente, ma allo stesso tempo inquietante, punto culminante nella continua ricerca di Keppel sullo spazio pubblico, le strutture urbane e la riproduzione.PREMI:The 15 Best Dutch Photobooks 2014 De VolkskrantPhoto-eye's Best Books of 2014Best of 2014 by Photobookstore MagazineTen Best Artbooks 2014 by Brooklyn Rail Prima edizione di 500 esemplari (First edition of 500 copies).
