Stillorgan & its environs is renowned as being the home of many famous writers and artists including William Orpen, Samuel Beckett, Brian O'Nolan (Flann O'Brien) & more. In nearby Dudrum the DunEmer Press which later became the Cuala Press was run by the Yeats sisters. Among its authors, contributors and editors were Jack & W.B.Yeats,Patrick Kavanagh, John M.Synge, Lady Gregory and many other famous Irish writers.
