Synopsis
Voici un conte inédit. Roverandom a été écrit en 1925 pour consoler d'un "gros chagrin" le jeune Michael Tolkien qui, en jouant sur la plage, avait perdu son jouet, un petit chien. A partir de cet épisode assez banal, son père a imaginé l'histoire d'un chien réel qui connaît d'extraordinaires aventures pour s'être montré insolent envers un magicien. Ces aventures canines, sur les deux faces de la lune puis au fond de la mer, en compagnie d'un goéland, de deux autres chiens et d'une baleine, d'une sirène et d'un serpent (de mer), sans compter deux autres magiciens pas ordinaires du tout et... Michael Tolkien, sont un enchantement pour l'esprit des enfants et aussi de ceux qui ne sont plus des enfants mais trouveront plaisir à se baigner dans l'inspiration si fraîche d'un auteur consacré.

About the Author
