About the Author
Daniachew Worku (1936-1994) was one of Ethiopia’s foremost modernist writers. Besides The Thirteenth Sun, he wrote several other novels, short stories, plays, and poetry. He also taught Amharic literature and drama at Addis Ababa University and was for a while the director of a publishing house. Another novel, Shout it from the Mountaintop, finished just before his death, will also be published soon by The Red Sea...
