Grade 6 Up -Both of these titles are designed to help students develop a plan for scientific inquiry. The experiments are prefaced with information on the topic followed by a materials list, the question the experiments are designed to answer, the procedures involved, and more ideas that extend the research. The first book includes experiments on Earth's relationship to space, the Moon, water and the planet's ever-changing features, the greenhouse effect and global warming, and how to make accurate maps. A helpful listing of the names, mailing addresses, toll-free numbers, and Internet addresses of science supply companies is appended. The second book includes experiments on ecosystems, how nonliving and living factors affect them, pollution, and acid rain. A useful glossary appears in this volume. Even though there are many science-fair-project books on the market, these two would be good additions to libraries needing to update their collections.-Ann Joslin, formerly at Erie County Public Library, PA
