American Architecture Now II is a collection of interviews with working architects. Diamonstein has interviewed American architects who represent diverse, and often antithetical, theoretical perspectives; interviewees include Philip Johnson, James Wines, Helmut Jahn, Richard Meier, Robert Venturi, and Joan Goody. A major value of this book is the author's use of consistent, probing questions. Thus, each architect provides insights on the people and ideas that have influenced his or her work. In addition, each architect then discusses specific sites or structures in relation to important architectural influences and concepts.
