About the Author:
Yvonne Owens (B.A., M.A., Marie Curie Ph.D. Fellow) is a writer, researcher, Shaman, musician and Bard, performing in Celtic, Early, Folk, Experimental and World Music styles and idioms. She was born in the U.K. and raised from the age of nine in North America, living in Miami, San Francisco, New York, and finally settling in Victoria, British Columbia. Author of The Journey of the Bard (with poems and illustrations by Miles Lowry), The Cup of Mari Anu (illustrated by Bay Area artist, Kevan Miller), and co-author (with Jessica North and Jean Kozocari) of The Witch's Book of Days, she is co-founder of the Thirteenth House Mystery School, the Imago Conference, and the Tree of Life School of Shamanistic Studies. Speaking to the healing alchemy available through the marriage of science, the sacred, and the arts, Yvonne has presented teachings and papers internationally to many disciplines, discourses, academies, and conferences, and has published widely in arts, culture and academic journals. She is Professor of Art History, Critical Studies, Creative Writing and professional Arts Writing skills at the renowned Victoria College of Art, where she also serves as Academic Director.
