Farmer’s Son tackles societal and interpersonal issues with grace and insight. Touching on a topic few before him have covered, Lasater’s beautifully crafted debut novel balances emotion with intellect, exploring universal needs of acceptance and love and the struggle to free oneself from a toxic environment when there seems no escape available.
