Synopsis

Seventh grader, Sara Cowley is unsettled when the FBI expose what happened when her family died two years ago. When she and her partner, Kim, discover a secret closet they hope the contents will help Sara discover who her father really was. This gets complicated when her DNA doesn't match her paternal grandfather's DNA. The story is set in fictitious Whistlestop, MN; a small town in Sherburne County. About the Author

When Marty Meyer-Gad decided to retire from income producing work to write she and her husband moved to Mankato, MN from rural Sherburne County. Her writing reflects decades of living in Sherburne County, allowing her to create the town of Whistlestop within that county. The Kimsara Detective Agency series was inspired by Marty's time teaching. She found seventh graders to be quite capable of understanding the world and making creative, positive impacts on it. She also found that books were lacking that touched on matters that concerned her students like: suicide, homosexuality, and grief. While written for all ages, Kimsara Detective Agency: Daddy? can be used as springboards to approach difficult subjects including grief, suicide, alcoholism, homelessness, identity, and sexual orientation.
