9780996432504: San Diego - Aerial Drone Photography By Aldryn Estacio Vol. 1

Synopsis

Born and raised in San Diego, Aldryn has been all over town exploring and documenting the city most of his life. But things changed in 2013 when he purchased his first aerial photography platform. A radio controlled quadcopter created by Dji.com turned the skies over San Diego into his playground. Aldryn has been flying what he calls his Tripod in the Sky; for a couple years now and is rediscovering his own city everyday. Because of the angles and locations this flying camera can be placed into, the perspectives achieved are all one of a kind. This is the very first published all aerial drone coffee table photography book of America's Finest City, San Diego, CA. Aldryn also has a very unique style of shooting his photos. He shoots multiple layers of photos from one position in the sky and stitches them together to create larger composition. He explains a little more of his technique in the book.
Some locations and iconic landmarks include: La Jolla, Del Mar, Balboa Park, Mission Valley, Encinitas, Coronado, Imperial Beach, Mission Beach and San Diego State, USD, Lake Hodges and Rancho Bernardo to name a few.

Review

There has been much hype about this emerging drone technology for the everyday person. Discovering a location from a different vantage point allows seeing a familiar location from a very different perspective. For over 100 years we have been taking and seeing images from an eye level perspective. Taking that camera just 30 or 50 feet higher up, changes the way we see our environment. Aldryn Estacio has accomplished just that - he took his aerial photography platform into the sky and captured the City of San Diego from angles not seen before. The result is a stunning work of art showcasing one of the most beautiful cities in the United States. No matter if you live in San Diego, have visited it or are planning on someday going to this pretty town - this book gives you a good sense of what San Diego (and aerial photography) can offer. --Romeo Durscher - Director of Education at DJI

As a professional photographer I like to collect books where photography is of superb quality. Mr. Estacio has created a wonderful compilation of aerial images of San Diego in this special publication. I will certainly buy it again, and with no doubt, this can be a great gift to surprise any drone pilot, or why not, anyone who appreciates great photography. Congratulations to the author! --Kike Calvo - National Geographic Photographer

Big fan of Aldryn s aerial photos, and now super excited to get my hands on the book! Really looking forward to learning about the FlytPath process behind the photography. Looks awesome! --Dmitry Borodyansky - Photographer
