Having trouble racking your brain trying to think of something vegan to make for dinner? Does reading through recipes trying to visualize a dish make you want to throw your cast iron skillet through the window? Don't want anything to be too complicated or time consuming, but want it to taste amazing too? This practical and easy to follow cookbook is your solution.
You don't have time to read through pages of text in a cookbook to find a tasty recipe. When you are in the kitchen cooking, reading pages of descriptive filler in a complicated recipe will cause you to burn your food. You need pictures. You need simplicity.
The authors of this book have been vegan food connoisseurs and chefs for many years and these recipes have survived trial and error and for eight of those years. Through multiple repetitive refinements for taste and simplicity, the authors have streamlined these recipes for style, taste, and ease.
Vegan Black Book will make choosing and preparing the perfect meal easy:

When I first became vegan, I quickly realized that eating at local restaurants every night was likely a thing of the past. It wasn't that I couldn't get them to make me something vegan, it was that their efforts paled in comparison to my food fantasies. If I wanted to eat the kind of food I dreamed about, really yummy vegan food, I'd have to make my own.
Then I delved into dozens of vegan cookbooks. But it was such drudgework going through them when they didn't have pictures. I had to literally read every text recipe and try to think about what it might taste and look like. It took me hours to come up with recipes I wanted to invest in cooking.
At one point I was excited to find a vegan cookbook with a picture on every page. But this book was by famous chefs and the recipes were multi-paged and very difficult and time-consuming. I am a woman of little patience. I wanted a cookbook where all the recipes were relatively easy, and always worth the effort put into them.
I was vegetarian before I became vegan, and had a cookbook I adored called "What's Cooking Vegetarian". I don't remember who the author was as I have passed the book on to a budding vegetarian. But this book had what I wanted, a picture for every page, and one page per recipe. I could easily flip through this book and find something that looked yummy to me.
That book was the inspiration for this one. I have added one more thing I wished for though, and that was alphabetized recipes, so that if I knew the name of the recipe, I could easily find it without looking in the index. Of course there is a very good index if you just don't remember what it's called.
I started putting all of our successful recipes with recipe changes and pictures into a giant black book. Hence the Vegan Black Book was born. I hope you enjoy cooking from it as much as we do! -Bronwen
