ROBERT L. GORE, JR. is the chair of the Board of Trustees of the Abyssinian Baptist Church and has served as the church’s official photographer for the past decade. A television and documentary film producer, Gore heads his own New York-based production company.
Photographer Gore, a member of New York's famous Abyssinian Baptist Church, brings love and reverence to this project. The church was founded in Harlem in 1808, when black New Yorkers were only barely tolerated at white churches, and it immediately took up blacks' social and political concerns.
