Synopsis

"Fatherless Women" is a book that is long overdue. When we think of the absent father, most often we reflect on the pain of the male child only. The author helps us to understand how important the father is to the female child also. A child suffers physically and emotionally when the father is absent.

The author examines the effects absent fathers have on the lives of their daughters - effects which impact on their roles as children, women, mothers, and wives. If you look at almost any problem bedeviling our society, you will find the plague of fatherlessness as its root.

Our society, for many reasons, is filled with woes, but one of the greatest sorrows is fatherless women. To not know who our father is, or what he stands for, leaves a large void - a void the must be filled. Women soar much higher and more confidently when they know daddy is there and can break their fall.

The author provides methods to help women break through issues restricting their spiritual and physical growth, and a 30-day plan for creating a new you.

This book, "Fatherless Women", will help hurting women to overcome and rejoice, no matter what their deficits were.

About the Author

Donna Griffin, although new to the book market, has been writing from her heart for many years. Finding solace in writing down her feelings, fears and victories was something she valued for herself. It was not until one day sharing those thoughts with a friend that it was suggested that she write a book to share with others. After committing to much prayer, God confirmed to her, His will for her to write books that would aid hurting women in how to overcome and rejoice no matter what their deficits were.

Donna was raised in the church, and accepted Christ at the age of twelve. At the age of thirty, she found herself far from the teachings of her youth. She asked the question, 'why?'. Upon realizing the voids and effects of those voids, she set sail on an adventure to return to her first love, God and the church.

Residing in Arlington, Texas, with her husband, Robert and three sons, Corey, R.J., and Ralex, Donna has found comfort and joy in ministering to women. She leads a women's bible study, 'Liberty Proclaimed Ministry', which deals with helping women break through issues restricting their spiritual and physical growth. Upon breaking these restraints women are able to freely praise and to worship God with their mind, body and soul of joy.

We live in a time when many people are filled with pain, women lead the pack. Our society, for many reasons, is filled with woes, but one of the greatest sorrows is: Fatherless Women.

Some women have no idea who their fathers are, let alone have any relationship with these strangers. Then, there are women who know their fathers, only they do not "know" them. Maybe they grew up in homes without their fathers, as in the case of divorce. Then, there is the woman who had a father in the home, but hand no communication, guidance or direction from him. Whichever category you fall into, God has sent me to tell you that he has heard your cry. He understands your needs and has provided freedom for you. Remembering His convenant with Abraham, provision has been sealed in the Blood of Jesus for the fatherless daughter. Acknowledging and understanding that covenant is where the freedom lies.

As I listened to the hurts of women, I discovered one very important fact: Hurt knows no color, no nationality, no age and no economic limit. I have spoken with fatherless daughters from all races and ethnic backgrounds, from eighteen to fifty plus, the single and the married, the wealthy, middle income and poor. Many women share this same hurt, no father! My cry to God was, "Why has this happened to so many women? How do we overcome this deficit in our lives? How do we even know what the deficits are? How do we cease to be victims and become victors? How do we raise our heads from a bowed down situation?" So began the journey to discover what should have been done, what effect the lack has caused to women and how to overcome for a great tomorrow. By overcoming, we prove God's word, which states He has provided victory for all. That includes the fatherless daughter.

Has not the Lord made them one? [husband and wife] In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring [children.] So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth. Malachi 2:15 NIV.

This is not a book of bashing me, but of healing women. My hope, prayer and vision is that this book will enable more women to understand, accept and deal with the fact that there was no father in their lives. It is also important for them to understand that it is not necessary to go through life with a gray cloud over their heads; trusting no one, believing in no one, and accepting no one. It has been said, "You cannot miss what you never had." I disagree. When women have knowledge of what should have been a part of their lives during their upbringing, they can better understand the decisions they've made for themselves. Once women can understand how their family of origin influences their choices of men, they can elect to make better choices. In making better choices, their actions will have a beneficial effect on their daughter's lives and that of the next generation of daughters. God has made provisions for the fatherless daughter. He has made it possible for all women to be complete in Him, so catch the vision, be healed, and set free.
