About the Author
Albert Costa es profesor de investigación ICREA en el Centro de Cerebro y Cognición de la Universidad Pompeu Fabra donde dirige el grupo de investigación «Producción del habla y bilingüismo». Al finalizar su doctorado en psicología en la Universidad de Barcelona, desarrolló su carrera investigadora en los EEUU (Universidad de Harvard, el Massachusetts Institute of Technology) y en Italia (International School for Advanced Studies), para finalmente regresar a la Universidad de Barcelona como profesor agregado. Ha publicado más de 150 artículos científicos en las revistas internacionales más prestigiosas y ha dirigido más de 20 proyectos de investigación. La pregunta fundamental que hilvana sus investigaciones es la de cómo la experiencia bilingüe esculpe el cerebro. Para responder esta pregunta, sus investigaciones hacen uso de diferentes técnicas experimentales tanto de la psicología experimental, la neurociencia cognitiva y la neuropsicología cognitiva. En la actualidad es editor asociado de dos revistas internacionales: Journal of Neurolinguistics y Language, Cognition and Neuroscience.
