About this Item
A scarce publication of the correspondence between Louise Benedicte de Bourbon and Marquise de Simiane in a decorative contemporary calf binding. In the original French. With the armorial bookplate of H. Remsen Whitehouse to the front pastedown. Anne Louise Benedicte de Bourbon 1676 1753, was the daughter of Henri Jules de Bourbon, prince de Conde and Anne Henriette of Bavaria. As a member of the reigning House of Bourbon, she was a princesse du sang. Pauline de Simiane, Marquise de Simiane, 1676 - 1737, was the grandaughter of famous French aristocrat, Marquise de Sevigne. In a full contemporary calf binding. Externally, rubbed, wth slight loss to the top of the spine and the corners. The joints are just starting. Internally, firmly bound, with light background foxing. There is evidence of a little past worming to the inner margin from pages 150 to 275, a little more prominent from pages 225 to 265, but never affecting the text. Good. Seller Inventory # FGN12-C-7
