4to. Pp. 224. Preface by Millard Meiss. Illustrated with 139 plates, most in color. Bibliography. With commentary on the plates. Bound in crimson cloth with gilt lettering on front cover and spine. In the illlustrated dust jacket, price-clipped and with spine a tad faded. The book collection formed by the Duc de Berry, prince of all French bibliophiles, was not as large as that formed by his brother, the King of France, but it was more sumptuous, discriminately luxe. His 206-page Book of Hours, produced on vellum and reproduced here, is but one example. Dust jacket is now housed in a clear, removable archival protector.
