The front panel of the boards have a ring stain in the centre where there is also a small surface scratch. The front panel also has three small raised bumps. Page edges a little browned. The front free endpaper has had a two inch triangular piece snipped from the top corner. The pages are otherwise unmarked. The jacket has some chipping at the top of the spine and a two inch closed tear at the bottom where a piece of tape has been attached to the reverse. Quarter inch tear to the bottom right corner of the front panel. One inch closed tear to the bottom edge of the rear panel. A few small nicks in the top edge of the rear panel. The spine is darkened and there are a few patches of discolouration. Illustrations by Agnes Miller Parker. First printing.
