Sachse, in which, besides general geographical and geological features of the Island, much attention is paid to aministrative achievements: traffic and road building, stimulation of local industry and economy, dutch and indigenous politics, local agriculoture and other means of subsistence, cultural anthropology, ethnography, kinship relations, religion and beliefs, life-cycle, weapons and war, head-hunting, of various indigenous population groups. A special report on West Seran (1919) is incorporated, describing political unrest and various military and police actions by which local rioting has been suppressed 1857-1919, incl. name-lists of men killed/wounded in action.
