Cloth. Condition: Very Good Minus. No Jacket. Charles Tresidder (illustrator). First Edition. 5" x 7.5" black title on blue cloth with colour illustration to front board of bipedal fieldmouse with little boy in Victorian dress. No date, 1st edition 1906. Pages are pretty tanned and vignetted, spine cracked at feps with mild cracking in one or two other places. Slight damage to top of outside of spine which is very faded, neat previous owners's name and date (Xmas 1914) to endpaper, 3"x1.5" label stuck to free ep, presumably obscuring inscription, otherwise Very Good. Little known among the reading public though sought after by collectors, G.E. Farrow enlists the skills of the extraordinary artist, Charles Tresidder. Dozens of wonderful illustrations throughout the book. Photos do not do the quality or imaginative genius of the illustrator justice. This is a very, very rare book and despite its faults is still a lovely example of a lost illustrator's art. Additional photos available on request.
