Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science that models the human ability of reasoning, usage of human language and organization of knowledge, solving problems and practically all other human intellectual abilities. Usually it is charact- ized by the application of heuristic methods because in the majority of cases there is no exact solution to this kind of problem. The Mexican International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (MICAI), a yearly international conference series organized by the Mexican Society for Artificial Int- ligence (SMIA), is a major international AI forum and the main event in the academic life of the countrys growing AI community. In 2010, SMIA celebrated 10 years of activity related to the organization of MICAI as is represented in its slogan: Ten years on the road with AI. MICAI conferences traditionally publish high-quality papers in all areas of arti- cial intelligence and its applications. The proceedings of the previous MICAI events were also published by Springer in its Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) series, vols. 1793, 2313, 2972, 3789, 4293, 4827, 5317, and 5845. Since its foun- tion in 2000, the conference has been growing in popularity and improving in quality. Usually it is characterized by the application of heuristic methods because in the majority of cases there is no exact solution to this kind of problem. Soft computing can be viewed as a branch of AI that deals with the problems that explicitly contain incomplete or complex information, or are known to be impossible for direct computation, i.e., these are the same problems as in AI but viewed from the perspective of their computation. The Mexican International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (MICAI), a yearly international conference series organized by the Mexican Society for Artificial Intelligence (SMIA), is a major international AI forum and the main event in the academic life of the countrys growing AI community. Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - This book is about a new approach in the field of computational linguistics related to the idea of constructing n-grams in non-linear manner, while the traditional approach consists in using the data from the surface structure of texts, i.e., the linear structure. In this book, we propose and systematize the concept of syntactic n-grams, which allows using syntactic information within the automatic text processing methods related to classification or clustering. It is a very interesting example of application of linguistic information in the automatic (computational) methods. Roughly speaking, the suggestion is to follow syntactic trees and construct n-grams based on paths in these trees. There are several types of non-linear n-grams; future work should determine, which types of n-grams are more useful in which natural language processing (NLP) tasks.Thisbook is intended for specialists in the field of computational linguistics. However, we made an effort to explain ina clear manner how to use n-grams; we provide a large number of examples, and therefore we believe that the book is also useful for graduate students who already have some previous background in the field.
