Leather-backed Boards. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Pp. xix, 13-429 + [2]pp. ads. With 15 maps and several wood-engraved illustrations. This history is remarkably thorough, detailed, and anecdotal, in spite of being called "abridged." Emma Willard founded a noted school for girls, offering science, literature, history, and other subjects beyond the "domestic skills." Although a staunch believer in equal education for women, it seems she was neither a suffragette nor an abolitionist. It is fascinating to see her skirting those issues in the History. A good copy in illustrated boards backed in leather. Quite worn at extremities.
