Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Overall a good condition item. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning.

Vol 2 appears to have a white substance on the boards previously (paint?) not mostly removed. Clean internally. Cloth. Complete in two volumes. Vol 1 contains Part I, covering boilers, pumps, and heating and ventilating machinery. Vol 2 contains Part II covering engines, turbines and condensors. Highly pragmatic, these books use a question and answer format to get to proper operational procedures for the machinery covered. Part II has a note as well indicating that "this book is intended to fit a person for any examination for a license to have charge and operate the different plants operated by steam." Had I been an engineer in the period, I suspect these would have been on my shelf.
