One of the famed illustrator Kurt Wiese's earliest and most popular efforts. Book is fine and unmarked. Jacket has a small 1/2" chip to the top corner and small closed tears at spine and flap edges protected by the archival Mylar cover, and is otherwise whole, clean and bright. Attractive and scarce in the dust jacket.

In the colour illustrative dust wrapper. Some minor edge wear and creasing. Price intact. A few loose pages towards rear. A little spotting to text-block. Overall a 'Good+' copy. Uncommon in the dust wrapper.

The cards are in near fine condition. English journalist, short-story writer, poet, and novelist Rudyard Kipling's major works include The Jungle Book (1894), Kim (1901) and many short stories and poems. Kipling was born in India, which inspired much of his work and his innovative stories for children have become timeless classics. Kipling was one of the most popular writers in the British Empire, in both prose and verse, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature in 1907.
