Seller: OldBooksFromTheBasement, Maryland Heights, MO, U.S.A.
Soft cover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Doubleday, Page & Co.; New York; 1916. Soft Cover. Book condition: Fair-to-Good. Dust jacket condition: None. Unstated edition, though 1906 & 1909 are the only dates on the copyright page. Soft cover with no jacket. 5-3/4" by 3-3/8" (pocket sized), 229 numbered pages followed by 6 unnumbered pages of ads for other guides; every entry for a bird, from page 17 to 208, has a 2 1/4" x 1-5/8" color picture. This book is in fair-to-good condition: the black leatherette exterior is worn, with a few wrinkles on the front cover and a 1/2" tear at the top rear gutter; but the front cover is hanging on by a thread--there are tears from the top and bottom of the front gutter and they are about 1/8" from meeting. The interior shows its usage: pages are lightly curled (from top to bottom, as though it was held and squeezed a bit) and the title/copyright page is stuck to the FFEP at the gutter and has a 1/2" horizontal tear from the spine inward. The contents, however, are in good condition--all pages, though lightly curled, are clean, free of writing, stray marks and stains and any paper damage (other than the curling). Various indices at the rear ("3. Birds with yellow as a prominent color") are also intact and useful. Overall, a good condition book in somewhat fragile condition.
