Add to basket8vo in fours, pp. viii, 136; with a list of subscribers; strongly bound in blue cloth boards, rebacked and recornered in morocco, spine lettered in gilt. First edition, and rare: Henry Slight was a local surgeon and clearly proud of Portsmouth, but apologetic about his skill as a poet. This amusing collection of poems, often with notes, covers many different events and people in the town's history. He issued the book by subscription, and the list on three pages at the front is full of local people. Not in Jackson, Annals of English verse, or Johnson, Provincial Poetry. Copac locates just three copies (BL, Bodleian and University of Southampton).
