Diese Arbeit geht der Frage nach, ob die Auswirkungen der Apartheid lediglich Folge ihrer Umsetzung oder bereits systemimmanent sind. Zunächst erfolgt eine Einführung in Landeskunde, Geschichte und Rechtssystem und eine Auseinandersetzung mit dem Begriff 'Apartheid'. Als Untersuchungsgegenstand der Studie wurde der Group Areas Act Gewählt. Anhand einer Erörterung von Anwendungsbereich und Regelungsgehalt dieses Gesetzes wird geprüft, inwieweit Polizeistaat und Verwaltungsaufwand in ihm angelegt sind. Sodann wird dargestellt, daß das Gesetz gerade der Nichtdurchsetzbarkeit der Rassentrennung Rechnung trägt und nicht einem 'separate development' der Nichtweißen oder der der Apartheid vorgeblich zugrundeliegenden 'separate-but-equal'-Doktrin.

Condition: Very Good. First Edition. octavo, 44 pages, custom bound in gray buckram, original pictorial wrappers bound in. SIGNED by Alan Paton, on the title page. Professor Richard Dale's copy, with his bookplate on front pastedown, and one page of typed notes laid in, referencing the text. Richard Dale was an author, expert on international politics and delivered many lectures before the United Nations.
