Hardcover. Condition: new. Hardcover. To survey the work of Mexican architect Javier Senosiain (born 1948) requires a journey through a particular trajectory in the history of architecture, from Frank Lloyd Wright and Bruno Zevi to Alvar Aalto, Eero Saarinen and Jorn Utzon. These pioneers of organic modernism faced the 20th centurys mechanistic, functionalistic and rationalistic proposals with a vision that sought to revive an organic relationship between humans and their environments.Senosiains concept of Organic Architecture follows in this tradition. Throughout his career, Senosiains work has explored the relations between user, site and architecture in spaces that echo natural forms and conditions. The concept of an organic habitat, he writes, is the creation of spaces adapted to man that are also similar to a mothers bosom or an animals lair. This volume surveys Senosiains work since the 1970s and his concept of Organic Architecture. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Hard Back. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition Stated. 219 Pages Indexed. Front cover has light wear to the bottom outside corner. Attractive red boards and endpapers. Javier Senosiain¹s architecture is always a discovery and, undoubtedly, a surprise that causes intrigue and certain restlessness; it is full of questions particularly for those of us who were formed on the functional rational school where, it should be said, he was formed with us. The questions are accumulated when opening this book of his work as it happened when reading his book of bioarchitecture. In the integral and modern Mexican architecture society, these unusual gestures are not so frequent and, since the appearance of the above mentioned works, a growing surprise has accompanied the architectonic production of Javier, although with a silent expectation as the intellectual society is used to. The next definite step was taken on 1985, as it is extensively documented in this book, with ³The Organic House², whose search is not only in the sense of the organic form but also on experimentation with the construction procedures that make it architectonically possible; on this matter, the photographs of the innovative processes are eloquent with which Javier and his group of real construction pottery makers carried out the organic houses of their maturity.
