This is the Canadian 1st Edition, 1st Printing, with Coloured Frontispiece and Tissue Guard, as called for in the Lechowick Bibliography (p.70). Green cloth boards with the full-page paste-down full-colour illustration on the front board. Bright gilt titles on the spine, though the R on Rainbow Valley has a little staining obscuring it slightly. The book shows only light wear to the boards, the front illustration and spine. Overall condition is still very pleasing. Both the front and rear hinges are sound and solid with no separation. The front endpaper has previous owner presentation inscription dated 1920. Frontispiece and the tissue guard are present (though tissue guard has yellowed). Internally, the text of the book is clean with no previous ownership markings. This book was well kept. Overall condition is still Near Fine or better. This book is Scarce. Robust shipping.

Front cover bears the same pretty artwork as USA and Canadian first editions. There is some rubbing to the the covers. Spine bears a bash towards the bottom with weakness to the cloth in that area. The binding is still solid. Rear of the front cover bears a name and date in ink. Some sun toning to end papers. The back cover is stained and rear of this cover and last endpaper is covered in markings (someone has played noughts and crosses across this area) and hinge is showing although still firm.
