First edition; (229 x 152 mm, 9 x 6 in); black-and-white photographs, introduction by Edsel Williams, design by Jerry Kelly and Edsel Williams; red endpapers, photo-illustrated paper-covered boards, printed in red, text in black, audio CD mounted to rear pastedown, fine; [40]pp. Cindy Sherman made these photographs in 1976, shortly after she graduated from the State University of New York, Buffalo. Early Work contains two series of self-portraits: Bus Riders, which comprises 15 black-and-white photographs in which she enacts characters based on people she had observed whilst travelling by bus, and Murder Mystery People, which includes 17 black-and-white photographs of characters enacting scenes from a murder mystery. Together, these two bodies of work provide a bridge between Sherman's student work and her first major series, Untitled Film Stills. Seller Inventory # 114484
