About this Item
Artist's book. A few years ago Monk moved to Rome for a while with his family. In Rome he adopted a pleasant gastronomic routine: restaurants and pizzerias, alone or with friends, but most of all with his family. Once back home, between the name of the restaurant and the foot of the bill, on top of all the various dishes consumed, the artist used a pencil, and sometimes watercolours, to reproduce the image of a work by another artist such as Warhol, Cattelan, LeWitt, Judd, Kippenberger, Noland, Prince, Ruscha, Kruger, Wool, Koons, Hirst, Buren, Gilbert & George, etc., on the receipt or scrubby hand-written note. Monk then took a picture and uploaded it to Instagram, where the first person to comment could buy the illustrated receipt for the cost of the meal (plus postage). Two versions were made, with the spine in pink or blue. [216] pp; 12 x 15 cm.
