Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the unexpected and often overlooked effects of drugs on the human body. The author, building on the work of pioneers like Virchow, examines the "incidental effects" of drugs, those that go beyond the intended therapeutic action. This book is part of a broader historical and scientific discourse surrounding the nature of medicine and the body. The author explores the concept of "individuality," emphasizing how each person's unique biological makeup influences their response to medication. The book details various factors contributing to these unexpected drug reactions, including individual susceptibility, the presence of pre-existing conditions, the state of the body's regulatory systems, and even the time of day or year. The author further examines the quality of drugs themselves, including the impact of their origin, storage, and preparation methods on their effects. This book offers a fascinating and insightful look into the complex relationship between drugs, the body, and individual variations. It provides a valuable resource for understanding the often unpredictable ways that drugs can influence the human system. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Seller Inventory # 9781332915088_0
