A very scarce first edition.A satirical poem discussing the period of the year - late July to early November - where courts were in recess, and trade and thus went into decline.ESTC T66871.Sometimes attributed to Edward Ward, this work was anonymously authored.The poem wittily critiques the economic state of the day, highlighting the connection between law, commerce and the economy. Unbound, as issued. Title page and final leaf tenderly held to the head only. Stamp to tail of final leaf. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and generally clean, with the light spotting. Good.
