PERFORMING ARTS MICHAEL RABIN AMERICA S VIRTUOSO VIOLINIST BY A. FEINSTEIN 2005 INSCRIBED. Quoting from the flap of the dust jacket: In 1943, at age seven, Michael Rabin picked up the violin for the very first time. Within six months, the child had an astonishing and masterful command of the instrument, outstripping the teaching ability of his father, who sat first violin with the New York Philharmonic. By age fifteen, the young Rabin had recorded for Columbia Records, was the youngest soloist yet to be featured on NBC s Bell Telephone Hous, and had had his Carnegie Hall debut, with Isaac Stern in attendance. As we find out in this book, his rise to fame did not last, tragically passing away at age 36. Please find then: Michael Rabin-America s Virtuoso Violinist, by Anthony Feinstein. This small hard cover book (6 ¼ x 9 ¼ inches, 248 pages) was published by the Amadeus Press of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, dated 2005 and I am assuming, a First Edition. The book is bound in black paper-covered boards with white titles on the spine and protected by a pictorial dust jacket. This copy of the book is inscribed by the Author on the half-title to the former owner. The book includes several sheaths of vintage b&w photos of Michael Rabin over the years. Condition: This book is in near fine condition. I am pressed to find fault with it. There is some faint scuffing to the high gloss finish of the dust jacket. The hard covers are pristine and unbumped. Inside, other than the Author s inscription, the book is unmarked although I did find two pages that were once dog-eared to mark a place. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight, sound and square. This book is not ex-library or a remainder. Seller Inventory # 829
