Leather boards are marked and have elegant blind stamped decorations, and gilt borders on the front and rear boards. Spines are in worn but good condition, with four gilt raised bands with gilt decorations, and five compartments. In the second panel there are gilt titles, and on the fourth there are gilt volume numbers. Front paste down and front free end paper are marbled. Title pages are in good condition with foxing and offsetting to the title page in Vol I. The pages are foxed throughout. There is also a genealogical table in Vol 1. Good set. Approximately 8 ¾ inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine fair to good condition rubbed and worn to the top and base with slight loss of colour, some scratches and marks to both volumes. Joints good condition rubbed and worn. Corners good condition bumped and worn. Boards good condition gilt decoration to all board edges with blind stamped tooling to all the boards, marked, scratched and worn. Page edges good condition marbled, top edges faded. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition paper cracked but boards secure. Paste down good condition marbled. End paper good condition marbled, subsequent end paper with two previous owner s inscription in large purple crayon. Title good condition tanned and foxed with offsetting from the frontispiece of Vol. I. Pages good condition tanned and foxed throughout. Binding good condition worn but attractive.
