This is a RARE collection of personal accounts from one of the most decorated ships in the Pacific in WWII the USS Portland. Quarto, 160 pages, old photos throughout. This amazing ship was in the thick of Midway, Guadalcanal, Coral Sea, Aleutians, Leyte Gulf, Okinawa and MORE. The cover and first page have some mild damp wrinkling otherwise Near Fine with NO marks, contents pristine. Heavy duty staple bound. NO COPIES FOR SALE AT ANY of the 26 major international book search engines. NO COPIES LISTED IN ANY LIBRARY WORLDWIDE! There was a 'We Remember I' which was NOT 'pre-1933' book but rather a rather much abbreviated and slap-dash reunion booklet that was so popular that they created this greatly enlarged second version absorbing the original material. I have included a scarce other book A HISTORY OF UNITED STATED SHIPS NAMED PORTLAND which is AS NEW and quite useful. Also, I have included three reunion books including the important 1983 reunion in Portland. Also, of great interest for the collector of Maine and Portland Maine memorabilia.
