Texas Real Estate Promulgated Contracts familiarizes students with the forms and addenda put forth by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC), so they can knowledgably represent real estate buyers and sellers. Licensees will learn which forms are appropriate in various situations, how to accurately complete these forms, and how to explain to all parties their options under those contracts. This text is designed to meet TREC s standards for the 30-hour Promulgated Contract Forms course, and is based on the teaching, brokerage, and writing experiences of two qualified, successful real estate educators.
Johnnie Rosenauer
Johnnie Rosenauer is Professor and Program Coordinator of Real Estate for San Antonio College (SAC). He joined the faculty at SAC in 1974, two years after the Real Estate Program was created, and has served as Coordinator almost continuously since 1980. Johnnie holds a B.B.A. in Real Estate and Marketing from Texas State University and was in the first graduating class from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), receiving his M.A. in Higher Education and Management. He earned an Ed.D. in Adult Education from Texas A&M University in 1984, where his research focused on testing anxiety among real estate license test takers.
Dr. Rosenauer has authored or co-authored numerous Texas-specific and national texts. He has also authored or co-authored over 50 professional articles dealing with real estate, land management, testing, and effective teaching. He served for over eight years as Director of the Raul S. Murguia Learning Institute, a professional development effort for San Antonio College which gained national attention for its successful endeavors. He has served as an adjunct faculty member in the Graduate Colleges at Texas A&M University, UTSA, and Texas A&M San Antonio. Johnnie was recently awarded the Life Time Achievement Award from the Texas Real Estate Teachers Association. This is the 10th time the award has been offered in TRETA s 39 year history.
Johnnie has practiced farm and ranch brokerage, land management, and wildlife consulting in south central Texas for over four decades.
Melissa Weathersby
Melissa Weathersby earned her Bachelor of Business
Administration degree (Management) from Southwest Texas State University, and her MBA from Webster University. She is currently working on her Doctorate of Education (with a specialization in Higher Education and Adult Learning) at Walden University. She received her real estate license in 1998, and in 2001, she was selected by the San Antonio Business Journal as one of San Antonio s 40 under 40 rising stars out of 270 applicants. She became a real estate broker in 2002. During the unstable industry years of 2005-2007, she even worked as an appraiser for both Dallas County Appraisal District and Bexar Appraisal District in both the residential and commercial departments.
Her academic experience began in 2006 as an adjunct real estate instructor at St. Philips College, one of the five campuses of Alamo Colleges. In 2008, she was hired as Director of Corporate Training and Continuing Education at Northeast Lakeview College, the newest Alamo Colleges campus, in Workforce Development. She spent four years in that position creating, negotiating, and selling certificate and contract training programs to students, school districts, local businesses and military installations. She led several committees, and was certified as a Franklin Covey 7 Habits Facilitator. In 2012, Melissa was a recipient of the National Institute of Staff and Organizational Development Excellence Award.
Melissa is currently an adjunct real estate instructor at San Antonio College and is still an active real estate broker. In 2014, she was recognized in the inaugural edition of Who s Who San Antonio Top 100 Women for her entrepreneurial excellence. She enjoys speaking and teaching at conferences and workshops and is also a life coach for clients needing assistance with business, career development, personal finances, or personal development.
