Beige fine-wove natural linen boards quarter bound in brown, with spine title in red, top edge gilt and other edges deckled parchment paper. With 24 rotogravure plates tipped in. The 1897 illustrated reprint of Bernard Berenson's 1st book. The book is in VG+ condition, with slight foxing and soiling to the covers and spine, mostly outside an adjacent shelving ghost. The red spine lettering has faded, and the corners are bowed inward, but the covers show remarkably little wear, and the top edge gilt is only slightly dulled. The pastedowns are very lightly foxed, but the text is quite bright and clean, showing only very light and very infrequent foxing, and the binding is still very tight. A fine copy of this Berenson classic. Housed in a protective mylar jacket. Seller Inventory # 113
