Publisher's orange cloth, gilt titles to spine. With the pictorial dust-jacket priced at 18s to front flap. Light spotting to front hinge. Edges toned with spotting to top. Numerous white marks to upper cloth. Heavy silverfish damage to jacket, especially front panel. Toning across jacket. Good. Inscription reads: 'For Edward and Clare Crankshaw | with love from | the translator | Two thousand years ago these plays were written | by a great genius who, for man's sake, tried | to show him the mad dog by which he's bitten: | two thousand years - the dog it has not died.'.
