Limited clamshell edition intended only for private distribution, with an original, varnished color print (11 x 8-1/2 inches) mounted on antique paper, signed in black ink by Mills. The print and book are contained in a custom, black velvet-like cloth-covered clamshell box with illustration debossed on lid and burgundy velour lining. The book is signed in black ink on the half-title page by Mills and Tucker. Hardcover. Fine linen cloth, with title stamped in black on front cover and spine, with a special tissue paper dust jacket. Photographs by Joseph Mills. Essay by Anne Tucker. Designed by Melissa Kennedy. 72 pp., with 49 four-color plates, beautifully printed on fine matte art paper. Book measures 9-1/4 x 7-3/8 inches; clamshell measures 13 x 9-5/8 inches. This first edition was limited to 2000 copies. New (print, book and clamshell box in pristine condition). His subjects are not Washington's elite, but those whose situations in life are more peripheral and vulnerable: children, street prophets, the homeless and the mentally unstable. The resulting pictures are both about the inner city life he records and his own internal conflicts.
