This is a unique and very useful directory of the best in-patient rehabilitation centers in the United States164 altogether, all visited by the author. The four pages on each center offer rating, corporate affiliation and profit status, costs and reimbursability, type of accommodations, treatment programs, length of stay, percent usually occupied, staff quality and ratio, and limits on patients, with Hart adding his own evaluation. The directory would have been better had it specified that some centers specialize in either drug or alcohol abuse, but it remains an essential purchase for most libraries.
