Octavo, blue cloth over beveled boards, gilt-lettered, with top edge gilt; tender hinges, slight toning to preliminary pages. First edition, first printing of Barrie's third book. A presentation copy, inscribed: "Rev. David Ogilvy from his nephew J. M. Barrie," on the half-title page. Barrie's chief connection to the Free Church of Scotland was through his maternal uncle, the Reverend Ogilvy (1822 1904), who ministered the congregation of Dalziel Church, Motherwell.
