A decent hardback copy of the second, 'cheap' edition without a dust jacket. The spine is lightly creased, and a previous owner has written their name and the date (1938), in fountain pen, on the front free endpaper. An old Foyles label remains in the bottom left-hand corner of the front paste-down, where there is also a light blemish. Two lines of pencilled notes remain on the rear paste-down.
