"As described in the sub-heading, the Stars and Stripes was the 'Daily Newspaper of U.S. Armed Forces in the European Theater of Operation' during World War II. This pair of special issues was published on May 8, 1945, officially celebrated as Victory in Europe (or V-E) Day. The Paris edition is eight pages and includes articles about surrender terms, ongoing fighting in the Czech Republic and China, and the many reasons for Allied success. The German edition was published at the auxiliary plant of the Frankfurter Zeitung in Hessen, is small, only four pages, and has the bold heading NAZIS QUIT! Source: Smithsonian Air and Space Museum." Condition B+ Condition Description "Pair of V-E Day Extras (Paris and German editions) printed on worn and toned news sheet that is creased in the middle.
